The Path

The Path

Teach me thy ways, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path, because of mine enemies. Psalms 27:11

Have you ever felt you just did not know what path you were on in life or maybe you just did not quite understand where you were heading. Where your chosen path was taking you. At some point we have, probably, all felt that way. Very unsure, maybe afraid because you just want to get it right. You want to be on a good path. One that is going to take you some where worth while.

Sometimes as we journey it can be that we are plowing on ahead for no thought of what is going on around us. Or we could be hesitant about each step that we take and afraid we might make a mistake. Or we might be trudging along with no care how fast life is going, or not caring if we do make a mistake or not.

I don’t know where you are on your journey or how far life has taken you so far or how many times you have had to turn around to find the right path or how many times you have hit a detour. But I do know there is a path for each of us. All the paths differ. Your journey could be in the far out reaches of Alaska on the frontier or in a small town in the south. Your journey could take you to every continent on the face of the earth. But one thing is constant, there is a path. A path that will lead us to where we need to be going. A path that my steps are ordered on, a path that I need made plain before me.

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord and he delighteth in his way. Psalms 37:23

Our paths are not the same. They may not take us to the same areas, or over the same mountains. Or through the same valleys. Or to meet the same people. Or to the same work or jobs.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye search for me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29: 11 – 13

I do not know where you are going or what path you have chose or what path you have been directed on. But I do know that God wants to order our steps. He wants the best for us all. Will you allow him to work in your life and direct your steps?

Lead me, O Lord, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face. Psalms 5:8

Whether you know Jesus as your savior or this is all new to you. We need to know the path we are on. We all need our steps directed. Sometimes as believers we are trying to get on the path God directs before us but are confused or trying to direct our self.

Pray. Pray to the Lord for direction. It clearly shows for us to ask that our path be made straight before us. Pray that he is directing each step. Do what you know is best to do. Pray everyday. Read God’s word everyday. Get it in your heart and let Him direct you as you live a life pleasing to Him(which can only be with His help).

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Matthew 7:13 & 14
